Helen Wills

January 24, 1919 - August 14, 2010

"Pooch"

(nee Payla) – passed away suddenly at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, Saturday, August 14, 2010. Age 91 years.

Survived by daughter Penny Wills of Joliet. Five grandchildren Nicolette (Thomas) Belszak of Darian, IL., Danielle (Edward) Nordskog of Newhall, CA., Kevin Wills of Coal City, IL., Bryan (Allison) Wills of St. Mary’s GA. and Jeffery Wills of Deltona, FL. Eight great-grandchildren Sara, Choloe and Sophia Belczak, Chet and Mitch Nordskog, Madison, Chance and Winter Wills. Her sisters Rosemary (Bill) Kania.

Preceded in death by her husband Lyle L. Wills (2003), a son Larry L. Wills (1983), a son in infancy. Two brothers Michael and Howard Palya. A sister Dorothy Trainer.

Helen was born in January 24, 1919 in Joliet. Member of Our Savior Lutheran Church where she was a member of the church choir and was involved with the Ladies Fellowship, the Braille Workshop and Senior Fellowship. She formerly worked at Zovan’s Childrens Clothing Store and Montgomery Wards Department Store. Helen volunteered at Sunny Hill Nursing Home and enjoyed fishing with her husband at the Coal City Area Club and gardening at their home.

Funeral Information

Lying in state at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1910 Black Rd., Tuesday, August 17 from 9:30 A.M. until services at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Keith Bowman officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M.
