Mary Kay Carlson

August 30, 1933 - December 25, 2011

Passed away at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, Sunday, December 25, 2011. Age 78 years.

Survived by her three daughters Jody Carlson of Fairfax, VA., Gail (James) Sicinski of New Lenox, IL. and Geri (Charles) Sauls of Barboursville, VA. Three grandchildren Katie, Jacob and Kirsten Sicinski. A brother George Leaf of LasVegas, NV. Also survived by two nephews and a niece.

Preceded in death by her husband Jack C. Carlson (2007) and her parents Clarence and Ruth Leaf.

Mary Kay was born August 30, 1933 in Joliet. She enjoyed a successful career as a nurse, working at Silver Cross Hospital and St. Joseph Medical Center and in private practice. Past President of the Joliet Junior Women’s Club. Mary Kay enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Peacemakers Quilting Group. In her retirement she enjoyed volunteering at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI. Past member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Friday, December 30 at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Robert D. Peterson officiating. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 3:00 – 8:00 P. M.

Donations Information

In lieu of flowers memorials to the Illinois Special Olympics will be appreciated.
