Orlo R. Colwell Jr.

November 14, 1931 - February 16, 2012

"Dutch"

At rest, Thursday, February 16, 2012. Born November 14, 1931 in Joliet and a lifelong resident. Age 80.

Survived by his loving wife of 57 years Arlene (nee Schmeisser); a daughter Karen (Eric) Arneson, two sons David and Daniel (Barbara) Colwell. Six loving grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by his parents Orlo Sr. and Marguerite (nee Aultz) Colwell, two brothers Clayton and Thomas and a grandson Brent Arneson.

“Dutch” retired from Commonwealth Edison in 1988 after 38 years of service. A charter member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, serving in the US Naval Reserves. Member of the Lutheran Layman’s Bowling League and enjoyed genealogy.

“Dutch” was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family.

Funeral Information

Lying in state, Monday, February 20, 2012 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, from 10:30 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM. Visitation Sunday at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home from 2-6 PM.

Donations Information

In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Lung Association or Our Savior Lutheran Church will be appreciated.
