Of Morris, former long time resident of Joliet and Shorewood, passed away peacefully at her residence, Thursday, January 5, 2012. Age 93 years. Survived by two sons Michael (Marianne “Mitzi”) Haley of Minooka, IL. and Joseph (Alice) Haley of Mt. Vernon, WA. Two daughters Jean Pickering of Loves Park, IL. and Susan (William Brandt) Haley of Princeton, IL. Eleven grandchildren Mary Davis, Sue White, Barb Morton, Jan Columbus, Julie Dzarnowski, Martin Haley, Brian Haley, Patricia Haley, Christine Haley, Joseph Haley and Daniel Haley. Nine great-grandchildren Megan (Dustin) Wilson, Daniel Davis, Michael and Christine Eppenbaugh, Matt and Nina Columbus, Haley & Hannah Dzarnowski and Andrew Haley. A great-great-grandson Jackson Wilson. Her sister Marjorie Kallan of Joliet. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Martin P. Haley (1969) and her brother John J. McGarry (2001). Mary was born in Joliet on March 3, 1918 to Joseph and Alma (nee Carlson) McGarry. She attended St. Raymond’s Grade School, St. Francis Academy High School and College of St. Francis. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was active with the Council of Catholic Women. Mary was also a member of BPW (Business and Professional Women’s Association) and the Will County Farm Bureau. She retired from Joliet Federal Savings and Loan / AmeriFed Savings Bank where she was a File Manager. Mary was also a teacher, homemaker and farmer. Mary loved to travel to Alaska, Ireland, Austria and was particularly fond of her trip to the U.S.S.R. She also spent many hours sewing, reading, watching her birds, playing cards, gardening and watching the farm markets. Funeral InformationFuneral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Wednesday, January 11 at 9:30 A.M. to St. Patrick Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery in Manhattan. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. Donations Information
