Aloysius "Al" J. Furdek

February 02, 1924 - January 10, 2010

At rest, Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Silver Cross Hospital. Age 85.

Survived by his children Tom (Bev) Furdek of Clintonville, WI and Sue (Glenn) Tibble of Joliet. Five grandchildren Rebecca Furdek, Amanda, Ashley, Laura and John Tibble. Brother Wendell (Barbara) Hucek, sisters-in-law Arlene (Pete) Earleywine, Ruth Furdek and Agnes Furdek. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (2002), four brothers Joseph, Andrew, Martin and John Furdek, two sisters Mary Furdek and Betty Baxter.

Born in Joliet to the late Katherine and Joseph Furdek. He was a lifelong resident. Graduate of JTHS. A Navy veteran of WWII. Retired from Caterpillar. Lifelong member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and Joliet East Side Athletic Club.

Dad enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and watching sports on television.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, on SATURDAY, January 16, 2010 at 10:30 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be held on SATURDAY from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 10:30 AM.
