passed away peacefully after a courgaous battle, with his family by his side, at Rush Presbyterian Medical Center, Friday, October 12, 2007. Age 66 years.\r\nSurvived by his beloved wife Marilyn Barker (nee Peterson). Four children Diane M. "Parrot Trooper" (David J. Thomas) Barker, Debbie (Jon) Lyon, Tony (Kim) Barker and Ken (Julie) Barker. 13 grandchildren Kati, Matthew and Jacob Ricken, Joseph Bernal, Daniel and Nicholas Lyon, Jessica Howe, Cody and Wyatt Barker, Brittany, Katie Cohan, Hannah and Jillian Barker. A brother Norman Baker and a sister Sandra (Harold) Gipson. Also numerous nieces and nephews survive.\r\nPreceded in death by his parents Lester and Gertrude Barker, a sister Patricia Gaddy. Twin brothers Lester and Chester in infancy.\r\nRetired from Sheffield Steel. Veteran of the U. S. Navy onboard the U.S.S. DD Rooks 804. Avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping,gardening and an animal lover, who loved "tinkering" with things. A loving and deovted husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.
