Survived by his loving wife of 60 years Rosemary (nee Gleason) Muir of Joliet, two daughters Mary Lynn (Joseph) Ferone of Joliet and Jacquelyn "Jackie" Muir of Chicago. Two grandchildren Caitlin and Kevin Dalton. Three brothers George "Bern" (Adeline) of Carterville, IL, Robert (Trudie) of Buffalo, WY and Eugene (Victoria) Muir of West Palm, FL, three sisters Ruth (John - Deceased March 4, 2006) Hayes of Joliet, Lois (Ronald) Schaller of Plainfield, and Mary Jane Muir of Joliet. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors also survive.\r\nPreceded in death by his parents Robert and Elizabeth (nee Helmers) Muir, two brothers Kenneth and Maurice Muir and a sister Helen Whalen. \r\nArmy veteran of WWII, serving in the South Pacific Theatre of War, the 632 TD Battalion Tank Destroyer. He was an avid woodworker who enjoyed making beautiful, finely crafted furniture for his family. A loving and generous husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
