Passed away peacefully, Monday, December 29, 2008, in Quincy. Age 86.\r\nSurvived by four daughters Linda (Lawrence) Kennedy, Karen (James) Jones, Terri (Terry) Korst and Sue Kirkland. Ten grandchildren Jared Kennedy, Brianne Fitzroy, Jason, Shawn and Brittany Jones, Mandy and Jacob Korst, Josh Gilley, Danny and Ashleigh Kirkland. Three great-granddaughters Katherine, Emilianna and Annastasia Fitzroy. Sisters-in-law Joyce Flynn, Jessie Haas and Diane Haas. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.\r\nPreceded in death by his wife Ellen A. Haas, a son Steven Haas, his parents Lucius and Lucy Haas, four brothers Merrill, Charles, Louis Jr and Donald Haas, two sisters Dorothy Heckendorn and Ruth Gee.\r\nVeteran of the U.S. Navy. Resided in Joliet. Retired from APSA and Joliet Public Schools. Enjoyed watching sports and an avid Cubs Fan.
