Obituary

Passed away peacefully at her home after a courageous battle with cancer, Monday, December 10, 2007. Age 72 years.\r\nShe is survived by her loving husband John W. Weltmeyer, two beloved daughters Karen (David) Korte of Sheradon, IL and Janet (Lonnie) Nance of Springfield, MO. Two beloved sons John M. (Belinda) Weltmeyer of Morris, IL and Larry (Leslie) Weltmeyer of Joliet. The love of her life, her grandchildren Sharilyn, Philip, Tami, Johnathon, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Megan and Joseph. Five sisters Sarah (Gene) Wachs, Ruth (Donald) Pehlke, Mae (Kenneth) Brockett, Millie (Walter) Garland and Ida (Jack) Canaday. One brother Dwight (Patricia) Hibner\r\nPreceded in death by her parents Francis K. and Ruth Hazel Hibner, two brothers Eldon and Francis. Born June 28, 1935 in Elwood, IL. She was a graduate of Joliet Township High School Class of 1953. Upon graduation she was employed at the Illinois Bell Telephone Company. She retired from First Assembly of God Church as the Church Secretary after 26 years of service. Edna will always be remembered for her gentle spirit and warm smile. She brightened the lives of every person she met, making one and all feel special. She gave her all for her beloved family, both immediate and extended. Her entire life was devoted to the Lord, her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but we know heaven is rejoicing. The family wishes to thank everyone at the Joliet Area Community Hospice for their love and care and all her faithful friends who visited her during her illness.
