(Nee Ayers) - Peacefully journeyed to be with our Lord on Friday, December 4, 2009. Born August 26, 1930 in Athens, IL, she resided in Joliet beginning in 1967. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church of Joliet. She enjoyed volunteer work with Grace UMC Day Care and Provena St. Joseph's Medical Center. Active member of The World's Best Book Club. \r\n Beloved mother of Gail West, Elaine Adams, Thomas (Kathy) Ciesla, Amy (R.J.) Abernathy, John (Kate) Ciesla, and the late William Ciesla. Devoted wife of Eugene Oetter, who has three children Nancy Oetter, Paul (Nancie) Oetter, Joseph (Mary) Oetter. Proud grandmother of Michelle (Brian) Doran, Erin West, Eric West, Camille Sharp, Stephanie (Robert) Gordon, Richard Carlson, Gerald Ciesla, Dexter Ciesla, Katy Ciesla, Nicole Clemens, Jaime Clemens, Alex Abernathy, Jennifer Oetter, Teresa Oetter, Michael Oetter, Claire Oetter and ten great-grandchildren. A sister Ann (Myron) Turley of Portland, Oregon, and the late Helen (Melvin) Baumgartner. Numerous nieces, nephew and a host of friends. \r\n A graduate of Tri-City High School, Buffalo, IL, ahe continued her education at University of Illinois, where she met and married the late Richard Dexter Ciesla. She raised and cared for her six children before returning to school at Joliet Jr. College. At the age of 42, she began her career as a bookkeeper at Kroesch Law Offices. For many years she served the residents of Villa Franciscan Nursing home, where she met and married Eugene Oetter. After retirement, she continued to serve the community with her many volunteer activities, including 20 years as the bookkeeper at the Grace UMC day care center.\r\n e.\r\n \r\n
