Of Joliet, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, with his family by his side, Monday, January 8, 2007. Age 91 years.\r\nSurvived by a son Alan (Mary) Onchak of Romeoville, a daughter Gail (Scott) Freeland of Joliet, four grandchildren Amy (Dan) Green, Brian (Tina) Dutkiewicz, Tammy (Keith) Mauzer and Dr. Alan Onchak, eight great grandchildren Alyssa and Abby Mauzer, Christopher, Samantha, Benjamin, Luke and Elizabeth Green and Roy Dutkiewicz. Two sisters Sophie Sefcik and Lillian Hulbert both of Joliet, one brother George Onchak. Also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends Len and Liz Branchaw.\r\nPreceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Stella (nee Zembruski) (April 6, 2006), a daughter Joanne Dutkiewicz (1988), His parents Joseph and Mary Onchak, one brother John Onchak and one sister Mary Sefcik. \r\nBorn in Joliet and was a lifelong resident. Retired in 1980 from Union Oil Refinery in Lemont after 32 years of service. Member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. He was an avid gardener and Cubs fan.
