Adrienne T. Stevak (nee Nelson) – 79, of Shorewood, IL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home after a weekend surrounded by her family. She was born November 5, 1936, in Chicago to the late Stanford and Florence (nee Kasha) Nelson. She grew up in Cicero, graduated from Morton East High School, and worked as a secretary at the Burlington and Quincy Railroad. Adrienne met the love of her life, Edwin, on the train to work, and shared 52 wonderful years of marriage together. She delighted in spending time with family and friends. An active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church for 38 years, Adrienne was a special person, compassionate, kind and fiercely loyal, and will be sorely missed. Adrienne was the loving mother of Lisa and Mark; caring grandmother of Joshua, Julia and Nicholas; fond sister of Gerri (Don) Krueger and Carl Nelson; and aunt of many. Memorial services will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1910 Black Road, Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorials to Our Savior Lutheran Church or Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated. Visitation will be held Saturday morning at Our Savior Lutheran Church from 10:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM.
