Obituary

Passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, November 2, 2021. Age 58 years. Survived by his siblings Joseph (Jan) Brown, Greg (Lisa) Brown, Cheryl (Daryl Brewster, Lisa (Robert) Franklin and his loving partner Deborah Vinson. His aunt and uncle Herman and Lillie Brass. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by his mom Daisy Lee Brass, his dad Prince Al Sterward and step-dad William Culpepper. One brother Eddie Brown Jr. and his uncles Leon Brass, Nate Brass, Willie Brass and George Blunt. Born in Jackson, Mississippi, Al spent the majority of his life in Joliet. Graduated from Joliet Township High School Central Campus in 1981. He worked for U.S Steel and the Filtration Group for many years. Al was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. He was a very loving and caring person and loyal friend. Al proudly served in the U.S Navy for ten years. Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Tuesday, November 16th at 12:00 Noon. Pastor Terrel Shell officiating. Inurnment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
