Alfrieda M. Kuhajda (Wojnarowski) – "Fef" Passed away peacefully, Monday, December 29, 2014 with her daughters by her side. Age 81. Survived by her daughters Nancy Kuhajda and Christine (Mark) Deters; two granddaughters Katherine and Natalie Deters. Three brothers Richard (Ann) Wojnarowski, Eugene (Florence-deceased) Gawenda and Casimir (Marian) Gawenda. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by her parents Carl and Elizabeth (nee Kunke) Wojnarowski, her brothers and sisters Harriet (Joseph –deceased) Kopernik, Cecelia (Stanley-deceased) Stanek, Eugenia Ritter, Edward (Loretta-deceased) Gawenda, Eleanore Wojnarowski and great-niece Kristi Sontag. Born in Joliet to Carl and Elizabeth on October 14, 1933 and a lifelong resident. Longtime member of St. Mary Magdalene Parish and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Graduate of St. Thaddeus Grade School and Joliet Township High School Class of 1951, attended Joliet Junior College. She was the office manager at Associated Radiologists of Joliet for many years. Mom always loved the first robin of spring, a great cup of coffee and a good laugh. She believed each day should be a fresh start. Funeral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Monday, January 5, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Visitation Monday from 9:00 AM until time of services at 10:30 AM.
