Algot Clarence Lindmark
Algot "Al" Lindmark, 98, passed away on Thursday January 9, 2025, in Joliet, Illinois, after a short illness.
He was preceded in death by his wife Grace (Domovich) Lindmark and his partner of 30 years, Esther Parker.
Algot is survived by son Alan (Nancy) Lindmark; daughters Janice (Thomas) Rudolf and Alice (Jeremy) Duncan; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren (and another expected soon); sister Dorothy (the late Stuart) Lundahl and brother-in-law Sten (the late Nancy) Hult.
Algot and his father owned a construction company, specializing in concrete work and home construction, and in later years he worked with his son Alan. Algot was a 44-year member of the Chicago Carpenters Union, a member of the Swedish-American Athletic Association and a lifelong member of the Vasa Order of America (a Swedish fraternal-cultural organization).
He enjoyed travel, the woods, animals, boating, keeping up on current events, puttering around the house and workshop, playing a good game of cards or dominoes, and life's simple pleasures. He was loved by so many people and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home and Crematory 2320 Black Road in Joliet on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 11:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 Noon. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
