Ann L. Henschel (nee Brown) - Passed away peacefully at Sunny Hill Nursing Home on Friday, January 8, 2016. Age 90. Born in Shawnee, OK and a Joliet resident since 1957.
Survived by her three sons John (Mary), David and Richard (Judy) Henschel; nine grandchildren Heidi (Daniel) Kim, Ashely (David) Kasprzak, Richard (Emily) Henschel, Daniel, Abby and Kevin Henschel, Jon (Lisa) Henschel, Kristin (James) Potthoff and Erik (Kathleen) Henschel; four great-grandchildren Brady and Parker Kim, Samantha Henschel and Richard L. 'Tripp' Henschel III. Her sister Mary Kay Reynolds; a niece Kathy (Kent) Watkins; five nephews Kent (Cathy), Rick (Jan) and Tim Reynolds, Carl (Nancy) and Mike Melin; a sister-in-law Mary (Vernon) Nobs. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her husband John H. Henschel, her parents Richard and Katherine (nee Kasmeier) Brown, her brother Dick Brown and a sister Betty Melin.
She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was very creative and a self-made interior designer who loved making her house a home. She loved the holidays and spending time with her entire family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond's, the Women's Club and the Alter and Rosary Society. She loved her Chicago Cubs and her beloved Oklahoma Sooners.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of St. Raymond, 604 N. Raynor Avenue, Friday, January 15, 2016 11:00 AM. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM.
