Passed away at Lightways Hospice Home, Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the age of 100. Ann was born June 14, 1922 in Joliet. She was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Stephen King of Hungary Catholic Church as well as St. Patrick Catholic Church. Ann was also active in the St. Patrick and Providence H.S. Mothers Club. She retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections in 1989. Ann was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, her parents Geza and Helen Szakonyi (nee Toth), her sister Lillian Tatroe. A. brother-in-law Andrew Hucek and sister-in-laws Dorothy Hucek and Marie Dainko. A nephew Rainer Dainko and her nieces Marilynn Takacs, Julia Dainko and Adrienne Miller. Survived by her sons Raymond Russell (Elizabeth) of Traverse City, MI. and Mark Stephen of Joliet. Two grand-daughter, Lauren (Nick) of Traverse City, MI. and Mari Fenili (Braum) of Joliet. Her Brother-in-law Robert Tatroe. Six nephews Stephen and Brian Tatroe, Dr. Edward Dainko, MD, Dr. Andrew Hucek, MD, Robert Hucek and Richard Hucek. Four nieces Marian Youngren, Diane Hucek, Virginia Hucek and Janet Hucek. Funeral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Monday, August 15th at 9:30 A.M. to St. Patrick Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 14th from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M.
