Arlene A. Ulrich
Passed away peacefully after a short illness, Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Age 84.
Arlene is survived by her sister Mary Lynn (Richard) Ginnetti, nieces and nephews Dr. Richard A. (Andrea) Ginnetti of Bloomington, Il., Nick T. (Rhonda) Ginnetti of Oswego, Il., Linda (Matt) Miller of North Lawrence, Ohio. Great nieces and nephews Michelle (Andrew) Lenahan F.S.A, Dr. Michael (Mary) Ginnetti, Matthew (fiancé Rachel Lee) Ginnetti, Kate Ginnetti N.P., Karli Ginnetti, Malloree and Macee Miller; great-great nieces Addison and Olivia Lenahan and her devoted friend Sharon Zamkovitz.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Linda Ulrich, her favorite Aunt Anna Ulrich along with numerous aunts and uncles.
Arlene joined the order of Sisters of St. Francis after high school. She served them tirelessly for 13 years. After leaving the order she continued her teaching career with Joliet Public Grade Schools for 25 years, proudly receiving Teacher of the Year during her career. She was a devote Catholic especially devoted to her lifelong parish St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Arlene was a great athlete, continuing playing softball after high school. She traveled extensively after her retirement. Arlene loved the Cubs and the Bears. She was a good and loving woman who enjoyed being with her family.
A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday May 11th, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 404 N. Hickory, Joliet, Il. Visitation will be at church from 9:30 to 10:30 am until time of the Mass at 10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. John the Baptist Church or Lightways Hospice will be appreciated.
