Passed away peacefully Sunday, October 12, 2014 at the Alden Place in Orland Park. Age 91. Survived by many close friends. Preceded in death by her parents Hjalmar and Thelma (nee Rucker) Carlson, a sister Dorothy Mae Carlson and her very dear friend and travel companion Lorraine "Raine" Fothergill. Born April 26, 1923 in Joliet and a lifelong resident. Retired from the Stateville Correctional Center. She was a very godly woman, who left a lasting imprint on the hearts of whomever she came into contact with. She gave from her heart anything she had to those in need. She shared everything especially her love for her Savior Jesus Christ and His Salvation. Memorial services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 12:00 – Noon. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Alzheimer's Association or the Harbor Lights Hospice will be appreciated. Visitation Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until time of services at 12:00 – Noon.
