Passed away at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, Sunday, May 22, 2016. Age 93 years. Survived by two daughters Barbara Orlowski and Pamela (Doug) Larson. A granddaughter Tracy Lynn Figone, two great-grandchildren Anthony Gassett and Brooke Figone. His brother Christopher Lachowski and his sister Sr. Mary Lourdine. A brother-in-law Walter Peterykowski. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife Alice Lachowski (nee Chase), a sister Bernadette Peterykowski and his parents Marcel and Clara Lachowski. Bernie was retired from Rainbow Bakery in Joliet. Veteran of W.W. II serving with the U.S. Navy. Member of American Legion Post#1080. Bernie's family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the staff of Salem Village, Presence St. Joseph Medical Center and Joliet Area Community Hospice Staff, for their service, concern and gratitude given to Bernie. Funeral Services will be held at the Carlson Holmquist Sayles Funeral Home 2320 Black Road, Thursday, May 26, at 11:00 A.M. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until services at 11:00 A.M.
