Betty Jane Ball (nee Williamson)– passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on January 27, 2024 at Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care Facility in Joliet, Illinois. Betty would have been 98 years young in April 2024.
Betty is survived by two children, Dr. Nancy J. (Ellis) Kennedy Sr. and William (Kathy) Ball Jr. her grandchildren Ellis (Debora) Kennedy Jr., Heather Jane (Kevin Noe) Ball and Kristi Ball. Great-grandchildren Alexandrea (Dan Becktel) Kennedy, Rachel, Ellis Bradley and Betsy Kennedy, Alyssa Fisher and Arie McBride. Very special nieces and nephew Jay, Pat, Laura, Sandy, Debbie and Cindi.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband William Sr., her parents Jacob and Lillian Williamson, sister Delores Wilson, brother James Williamson, special sister-in-law Jean Williamson and grandson William Ball III.
Betty was an incredibly special lady and dearly loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many. Betty and her family would like to thank her long-time primary care Doctor Christopher Udovich for the excellent care he provided to Betty for several years. Also, thanks to her very special Physical Therapist John Gearhart who became her dear friend and comrade during the time John helped her thrive after each of her physical challenges. One of the things Betty enjoyed most was getting her hair done and a special thank you is extended to Danielle Genis for treating her like her own grandmother and becoming such a special hair stylist and friend to Betty. A special thank you to her neighbor Larry who came to visit and chat with Betty frequently. Betty enjoyed those visits while not having to leave the comfort of her favorite chair.
Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in her name to The William Ball Scholarship at Providence Catholic High School. The Dr. Nancy J. Kennedy Scholarship at Lewis University and Lightways Hospice and Serious Care Facility. Betty's special request was that all who read this do a random act of kindness in her memory. The Carlson Holmquist Sayles Funeral will be overseeing the arrangements.
