(nee Williams) Passed away, Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center. Age 78. Survived by a daughter Vicki (George) Chambers of Diamond and son James (Donna) Carroll of Crest Hill; four grandchildren Jennifer (Christopher) Patterson of Lakeland, FL., Michael (Angela) Chambers of Carbon Hill, Jeffrey (fianc Briana Armes) Carroll of Crest Hill, and Nichole (fianc Matt Steen) Carroll; great-grandchildren Liam Patterson, Mia Chambers, Ethan Nelson, Krystoffer Armes and one on the way due in August. Her sister Judith Cash of Sesser, IL, her sisters-in-law Marie Carroll and Jeanine Williams. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years James J. Carroll, a grandson Gerald Carroll, her parents John and Betty (nee Winemiller) Williams, a sister Mary Katherine Williams and two brothers Ronald Williams and Michael Williams. Born in Mt. Vernon, IL. Retired from Joliet Junior College and Joliet Renaissance Center. Member of Grace United Methodist Church and former member of Messiah Lutheran Church. She adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, being around people and was a 'social butterfly'. Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 12:00 – Noon. Interment Old Union Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, IL. Memorials to the American Diabetes Association or to a Children's Charity of your choice will be appreciated. Visitation will be held Saturday 9:00 A.M. until time of services at 12:00 - Noon.
