Bonnie L. Berry (nee Holtzclaw)
Passed away peacefully at Lightways Hospice, Sunday, March 8, 2026 at the age of 93.
Survived by three children Karen (Jose) Jaramillo, Laura (Esteban) Arellano and Jonathan W. Berry. Her twelve beloved grandchildren Jose (Nikki) Jaramillo, Christina Jaramillo, Loren (Henry) Avalos, Christian (Vanessa) Arellano, Megan Arellano, Kenosha (Brent) Tannahill, Reina (Thomas) Waterloo, Faith (Richie) Hattan, Gloria Berry, Riley Mackenzie and Graham Berry. Sixteen great-grandchildren Sophia, Gianna, Sarah, Lucy and Tony Jaramillo, Gabey, Liam and Mateo Avalos, Scarlett, Georgia Dom and Vincent Tannahill, Isabella and Westley Waterloo, Elliott and Penny Arellano. Loving aunt of Sondra McStoots, Forrest and Jerry Berry, Joe, Tim, and Melissa Holtzclaw, Carl French and Jeri Penny. Also survived by many close friends.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband Marvin O. Berry (1993), two sons Marvin Owen and Bryan Keith Berry, her two brothers Wayne and Thomas Holtzclaw and her parents.
Bonnie was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 4, 1933 in Louisville, KY. to the late Ernest R. and Sadie L. Holtzclaw. She and Marvin moved to Joliet in 1968, where they raised their family. Bonnie dedicated over 30 years of her life to teaching with Joliet Grade School District 86, impacting the lives of countless students. She was a devoted member of Iglesia Camino al Cielo Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and church treasurer. Bonnie was a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior.
Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Friday, March 13th at 11:00 A.M. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery. Memorials to Lightways Hospice or Iglesia Camino al Cielo Church will be appreciated. Visitation will be held Friday, March 13th from 9:00 A.M. until time of services at 11:00 A.M.
