Obituary

Passed away suddenly at his residence at the age of 78 years, Wednesday, December 9, 2020. Survived by his devoted sister and brother-in-law Audrey and Bill Fritz. Proud uncle to Lori (Bill) Daily, Donna (John) White, Susan (Tom) Bowen, Shelley (Jeff) Simon and Stacy (Joe) Broske. Ten great nieces and nephews and sixteen great-grand nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his loving parents, sister Donabelle and infant brother Gerald. Maternal grandparents Henry and Mary Carpenter. Paternal grandparents Raymond and Emma Hodgdon. Also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Bruce was born on August 15, 1942, the son of Everett and Adeline (nee Carpenter) Hodgdon. Bruce was a resident of Lockport until the passing of him mother, when he relocated to Shorewood Horizon, which he loved and always called home. He appreciated his many friends and all the activities that he enthusiastically participated in. Bruce became everyone's helper. Through the years he took several camping and fishing trips. Bruce enjoyed listening to the radio or watching his old-time movie collection, football, baseball and playing cards. He was always able to give the weather forecast when asked. Family gatherings were important to Bruce, he will be missed. Funeral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Wednesday, December 16th at 10:30 A.M. to Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brook Forest Ave., Shorewood at 11:00 A.M. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A. M. Covid-19 safety protocol and social distancing will be observed.
