Passed away suddenly, Sunday, March 29, 2015. Age 76 years Survived by his loving wife of 53 years Barbara M. Kursell (nee Probeck), Three children Laura Andrews, Wendy Kursell-Casey and Steven (Cherie) Kursell. Nine grandchildren Spencer (Sara Johnson-fiance') Andrews, Natalie (Chris) Carpenter, Nicole Andrews, Dylan and Aaron Casey, Niels, Torin, Zachary and Claire Kursell. Two brothers Edwin (Joyce) Kursell and Dennis (Donna) Kursell. His two cousins Richard (Pat) Kursell and William (MaryEllen) Kursell. Also several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Sture E.A. (1940) and Norma M. (2015) Kursell, father-in-law Charles J. (2002), his mother-in-law Edna L. Probeck (2014), uncle Carl W. Kursell (1982) and aunt Evelyn Kursell (2000) Bruce was born May 6, 1938 in Joliet. He graduated from Joliet Township High School Class of 1956. Graduate of University of Illinois College of Pharmacy. He began his career at Joliet Prescription Shops and retired in 2013 from Doc's Drugs - Coal City and Dwight. He was beloved for his dedication and impeccable customer care. Lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. 2014 Backbone Award recipient for his dedication and service to the Joliet American Legion band. Bruce played clarinet with the American Legion Band and the Joliet Junior College Community Band. Lying in state at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 412 E. Benton St., Friday, April 3rd from 9:30 A.M. until services at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Tim Linstrom officiating. Interment Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church will be appreciated. Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Homlquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Thursday from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M.
