Caesar Bianchetta Age 95, passed away peacefully July 3, 2016, at his home in Joliet. He was born in Italy in 1921 to the late Frank and Prosperina Bianchetta (U.S. Citizens). At age 13, he and his family settled in Georgetown, Illinois. He attended Eastern Illinois University, then at age 19, he moved to Joliet for work. He met his future wife on December 7, 1941 at the South Side Civic Club in Joliet. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on September 25, 1942. While on a 3-day pass, he married Elizabeth "Betty" Aimaro on July 18, 1943. He then was sent to England with the 96th Bombardment Group where he was stationed for the duration of the war. At the end of the war, he returned to Joliet where he spent the next 71 years raising his family and rooting for the Cubs to win a World Series. He worked for General Refractories Corporation for over 40 years as a machinist, was an impassioned "union man", coached Little League Baseball, was a lifelong member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church of Joliet, a member of Stone City Post VFW # 2199, an active member and former officer of American Legion Post 1080, caught many fish with his sons and grandsons, was a voracious reader and grew the best tomatoes in town. His wife of 72 years was at his side when he passed. He is survived by his devoted wife Elizabeth, sons Victor (Sharon) Bianchetta and Robert (Janet) Bianchetta; brother Steven (Pat) Bianchetta; sister-in-law Mary Ellen Aimaro; grandsons Anthony (Holly) Bianchetta and Christopher (Kristina) Bianchetta; great-grandchildren, Noah, Alexander, Everley and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter Beverly; brother, Ernest (Lenora) Bianchetta; brother-in-law Peter Aimaro and great-grandsons Jacob and Aiden Bianchetta. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Frank and Sherri Bianchetta for all their help and support to both Caesar and Betty over the years. They would also like to express their gratitude to Joliet Area Community Hospice for their compassion and care during recent weeks. A memorial visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home and Crematory, 2320 Black Road, Joliet on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 11:00 AM at the Church of St. Anthony, Joliet. Inurnment of cremated remains to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
