Carol M. Terdic

Passed away at her residence, Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at the age of 90 years.

Loving mother of Marikathryn Terdic-Kazak, Lisa (William) Vertin and Michael (Barbara) Terdic. She was the proud grandmother of Gregory (Emily) Kazak, Steven (Adriana) Kazak, Matthew Terdic and Lindsey (Jimmy) Rosequist. She cherished her great-grandchildren Mason Kazak, Madeline Kazak, Carolyn Rosequist, Vito Kazak and Sonny Kazak. Her dear sister Rita Flickinger, brother-in-law Richard Terdic and sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Schreiber, Kathy (Frank) Riley and Karen Terdic.

Carol dearly missed her husband Robert F. “Bob” Terdic (2024) and son R. Soctt Terdic (2022). Also preceded in death by her beloved grandson Michael Terdic, Jr. (2024) and her brothers Walter Jakielski and Donald Jakielski.

Born in Joliet on October 4, 1936, to Walter and Mary Jakielski, Carol graduated from Providence Catholic High School in 1954. Her musical talent earned her a full college scholarship, but she chose a different future marrying the love of her life, Robert F. “Bob” Terdic on August 13, 1955. Their marriage spanned 69 years, until Bob’s passing in 2024.

A devout Catholic, Carol found strength and meaning in her faith throughout her life. She was a faithful and active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, a parish with deep roots in her family’s history. Her great-grandparents, Albert and Marion Jakielski, were among its founding members, and Carol’s lifelong devotion carried that treasured connection into another generation.

She was an excellent cook, making most meals from scratch. Her and Bob traveled extensively and went on twenty three cruises. A special thank you to Carol’s son-in-law Bill, who they loved like their own son, for his extraordinary care and help to both Carol and Bob.

Funeral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at 9:30 A.M. to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 830 Elizabeth St. at 10:00 A.M. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, November 2, 2026 from 2:00 – 7:00 P.M.
