Charlene A. Sweeney

(nee Hanus)

Late of Crest Hill, passed away Friday, December 23, 2022 at the age of 69.

Survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Yurkovich of Romeoville, a son, James Sweeney Jr. of Crest Hill. Her brother, Charles Hanus Jr. of Manhattan. Her sisters-in-law, Joyce Matkovic of DesPlaines, Mary Jean Sweeney of Sheridan and Mary Ellen Short of Joliet. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, James T. Sweeney Sr. in 2010; her parents, Charles and Ann (nee DeLeo) Hanus; Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry Sweeney and Dorothy (nee Jay) Sweeney; her sister-in-law, Jean Honig, her brothers-in-law, Robert Honig Sr. Rick Short, Henry "Hank" Sweeney and Raymond Matkovic; her nephews, Sean Sweeney and Robert Honig Jr.

Char enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed visiting Army, Navy, Air Force Military Bases and vacationing in the Smokey Mountains.

Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 8:30 am until time services at 10:30 am.

Interment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
