Clara M. Weiss
(nee Mikula) 'Tootsie"
Age 86, Passed Tuesday August 09, 2022, at her home with her family at her side and under the loving care of Kateryna Shevchuk and Lightways Hospice. Clara was born in Lockport, IL December 29, 1935, Clara was the daughter of the late Peter and Helen (nee Kowalski) Mikula.
Clara was a lifelong resident of the Lockport and Joliet area. Clara attended St Thaddeus grade school and Lockport township high school class of 1954.
On May 29, 1965, she was united in marriage to Donald L. Weiss in Joliet, IL. He predeceased her on November 20, 2018, after 53 years of marriage.
Clara was a certified dental assistant for many years and worked for Drs. Adelman in Lockport and then Dr. Hollatz in Joliet. Clara was an in-home care giver in her later years retiring in 2012. Clara loved crafts, crocheting, and scrapbooking, but nothing surpassed her love for her cats.
Clara is survived by three children, Mark (Eljim Tesoro) Weiss, Linda (Adam Rabyk) Weiss and Paul (Jane) Weiss; dear friend, Gail Marich; two grandchildren, Colin and Rogan Weiss;
brother-in-law, Arthur W. (late, Ann) Weiss Jr.; Beloved niece and part time care giver Rita Parkinson and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by her husband Donald L Weiss. Parents Peter and Helen (nee Kowalski) Mikula, seven sisters Josephine (John) Nedlo, Catherine (Frank) Blaskey, Florence (Martin) Troppe, Frances (Michael) Popik, Sophie (Jake) Chinderle,
Pauline (Andrew) Christopher and Dorothy (Stanley) Elliott. six brothers John (Victoria), Albert (Helen), Peter, Walter (Nell), Leo (Bertha) and Arthur (Korean Conflict) Mikula and Edward (Emma) Kowalski. Sister-in-law Doris (Leonard) Eichelberger.
Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, Joliet on Monday, August 15, 2022 from 9:00 AM until time of service at 11:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Outdoor Mausoleum.
