In 1993, Clarabel was honored as Illinois Mother of the Year. She was also a vigorous supporter of the Marshall County Historical Society where she held numerous offices, enjoyed genealogy, and composed a Sparland History Book. Even with all Clarabel's accomplishments, she was most proud of her titles of wife, mother, grand grandmother, and great grandmother. Due to Covid-19, private family services will be held.
