Clarence Paul Blatti – passed away at Presence Villa Franciscan Nursing Home, Thursday, October 2, 2014. Age 87 years.
Loving father of Nancy (John) Finch of Mill Creek, WA., David (Anita) Blatti of Algonquin, IL., Richard (Penny) Blatti of Upper Arlington, OH. and Deborah (Henry) Williams of Joliet. Grandfather of Douglas, Stephan, Erin and William. Great-grandfather of three. Dear brother of Donna Kijowski of Cicero, IL. and Dorothy Washam of Pine Knot, KY.
Preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Mary Blatti, four brothers James, Charles, John "Jack" and Douglas Blatti. Four sisters Dolly Hatton, Delores Brookman, Audrey Heidle and Diana Blatti in infancy
Paul was born in Downers Grove in 1927, the eldest child of Lewis and Mary
Blatti. He worked with his father doing heavy construction before opening
Paul & Mike's Transmissions on Benton Street along with his brother-in-law
Michael Kijowski in 1955. He owned and operated the business until his
recent illness, expanding it to its Collins Street location while working six
days a week throughout his life. Paul was active in the community, including the Rotary Club of Joliet, the Joliet Writer's Club and Community Watch. He also authored articles for the Herald News from time to time. He leaves behind an extended family of friends and relatives.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Wednesday from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M.. Private interment has been held. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Presence Villa Franciscan Nursing Home Damiano Unit will be appreciated.
