Clyde C. Collins - passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, Sunday, June 5, 2022. Age 74.
Survived by his wife and best friend of 53 years, Kathy (DiDomenic) Collins, his sons Kevin (Tonia) Collins, Daniel (Jessica) Collins and his grandchildren Trenton, Lindsey, Kelsey and Nathan. His siblings Judy Posego, Chris (Jess) Palacios, Dennis Collins and Kirk (Cindy) Collins. His sister in law Karen (Don) Parks and brother in laws Donald, Ken and Jerry (Bonnie) DiDomenic. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents Charles and Ethel Collins and his sister Janice Brozovich.
Clyde was an electrician for the E J & E Railroad for 38 years, and a longtime member of the IBEW. Clyde proudly served as a Corporal with the US Marines, fighting in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968 2nd Battalion 1st Marine. Member of the Cantigny Post #367. He loved sports especially baseball and was an avid Blackhawks fan. Clyde could fix anything, especially willing to help his family with any project that came up. He never missed an event for his kids or his grandkids and always ready with a story to tell. Family was very important to him, especially being a grandpa. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Friday, June 10th. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
