Dale Wilson Smith Jr.
Age 79, passed away, Tuesday May 29, 2018.
Born in Joliet, Il on December 26, 1938 to Dale W. & Wilma (Baron) Smith and raised in Plainfield.
Preceded in death by his father, Dale W. Smith, mother Wilma (late, Kenneth) Wines. Brother Raymond (late, Wilma) Smith, in-laws Everett & Mabel (Dyer) Attaway.
Survived by the love of his life, his wife of 62 years, Joyce (Attaway) Smith of Shorewood. Daughters, Suzette (Charlie) Brien of Elk Grove Village, Robin (Ronald) Lif of Lockport and son Dale W. Smith III (Kay) of Channahon. Beloved granddaughters, Emily and Natalie Lif. Brother John (late, Judy) Smith of Morris. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and many dear friends also survive.
He was a longtime resident of Joliet and Shorewood. He worked for many years as a mold maker in the glass manufacturing industry.
Dale was a devout Christian who spent much of his free time studying the bible. Dale had a deep and loving faith in Our Lord and was a true model of a Christian. He was a longtime member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
Dale loved his family with all his heart and loved to spend as much time as possible with them. He loved to read, especially about history. His sense of humor, wit, love, intelligence and kindness will always be a part of his loved ones and will never be forgotten.
Visitation for Dale Wilson Smith Jr. will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home 2320 Black Road on Thursday, May 31, 2018 for 4 to 8 P.M. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Pastor David Nygard and Pastor Kurt Hoover officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park I.
