Daniel O. Kaluzny - passed away suddenly, Wednesday, May 26, 2021. Age 41 years. Survived by his loving father William Kaluzny, his sister Kate Kaluzny and the love of this life for over eight years Mary Earley. Preceded in death by his mother Judith (Dundore) Kaluzny, his grandparents Marvin and Martha Dundore and Raymond and Jean Kaluzny and his beloved cat Satchmo. Daniel went to Joliet West High School (1994-1998), Indiana University and Lewis University. He followed in his father and grandfather's footsteps into the family business Kaluzny Bros., Inc. where he worked numerous jobs over the years and eventually ran the quality control lab. He was a guitarist in jazz bands at Joliet West High School and Lewis University, winning the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award twice in high school for outstanding performer. Before and while at Joliet West High School he was also a member of the cast in six exceptional musicals there. Music was his lifelong passion, starting with piano at a young age, and then his Uncle Steve gifted to him, his true instrument, a guitar. He was particularly passionate about playing classical Spanish guitar and produced a CD of his work. He taught guitar to kids and adults alike for almost a decade. He loved going up to Northern Wisconsin every year with his family, where he particularly loved water skiing and fishing with his dad at Top O' the Morn campground. He had an immense curiosity and movies and books about space and science fiction were his favorites. He was also passionate about baseball and the Chicago White Sox was his favorite team. Daniel had a big personality, generous heart and a great curiosity. He loved to cook and loved being with his family. He will be missed dearly. Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Thursday, June 3rd at 10:00 A.M. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M.
