Obituary

David Earl Clements Age 72 years, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born on February 16, 1948 to the late Samuel Grady Clements and Eleanor (nee Atkins) Clements. David served in the US Army from 1968-1969 during the Vietnam War. He was employed and then retired from TTX after 37 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Jeannie Watkins, Shirley Fay Clements, Emma Wadsworth, Eleanor Engelking and Mary Russell and one brother, Grady Glen Clements. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather and his family was truly blessed. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Nina (nee Winchester) Clements; two sons, David Scott (Lois) Clements and Andrew Joseph (Kelly) Clements; three grandchildren, Danielle Kristine (Tom) Sanocki, David Neal Clements and Stephanie Werlyne Clements; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews also survive. David and Nina traveled to 26 states together and with family and he was known to always complain before traveling, but once he left…. he loved every minute of the time away. He was an avid Deer Hunter with his sons and grandson; fishing with family from Wisconsin to Florida to Arkansas and Norfolk Lake, as well as, Cattle Drives in Ohio and Trail Rides in Wyoming and ATV rides in the Smokey Mountains. David loved music and playing music for his family and friends he loved. He enjoyed attending Bluegrass Festivals. He played in several groups including the Clements Family Quartet, Just Us Bluegrass Band and the Headin West Band. A celebration of David's life and visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road in Joliet on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12 noon with Rev. Charles Clifton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated
