David J. Moholick

Peacefully passed away at his residence on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at the age of 86 years. He was surrounded by the love of his family. David was born on December 20, 1937, in Joliet to the late Frank and Albina Moholick. He graduated from Joliet Township High School, Class of 1955.

David is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Moholick (nee Hamilton), with whom he shared many cherished years. He leaves behind a legacy of love and family, including his two daughters Cindy (Lou) Ambrosch and Vicki Neverman, and his step-sons Robert (Mitzi) Anderson and Philip Anderson. His memory will be carried on by three grandchildren Courtney (Mike) Polcyn, Haley Ambrosch, and Taylor (Michael Berlin) Neverman. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren Addison and Luke Polcyn and Jack Ambrosch-Meier. Additionally, four step-grandchildren Steffani (John) Bearden, Alexandra, Katelyn, and Donielle Anderson, and two step-great-grandsons Matthew and Michael Bearden. His sister Elizabeth Babich.

David was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Moholick (2008) and sister Charlene Moholick. A son-in-law Gary Neverman (2021) and brother-in-law Matthew Babich.

David dedicated over 40 years of his life to the E.J. & E Railroad, where he worked as a skilled welder in the car shop. His commitment and hard work were a testament to his character. Simultaneously, for over five decades, he tended bar at Ulrich Bar & Grill, becoming a familiar face in the community. Away from work, David found joy in the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing in Canada and hunting in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Funeral services for David will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Road, on Saturday, March 2nd, at 11:00 A.M. Interment will take place at Elmhurst Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
