Delores C. Barden (nee Helmle) Age 90 years, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the home of her daughter with her loving family by her side. Born in Milwaukee, WI and living in Joliet for many years. Delores was employed by the Joliet Township Assessor's Office for 50 years, before retiring at the age of 82. Delores was a skilled seamstress. She enjoyed and was very active with crafting, crocheting and knitting, founding her company Charlie's Geese and was fondly known as "Charlie" in the crafting business and to her family and close friends. Delores spent many weekends traveling to craft shows and running her business. She was also a life-long avid Cubs and Bears fan and always stood by her teams through thick and thin. Some of her happiest times were going out to eat at her favorite restaurants with her family. Preceded in death by her loving husband, John M. Barden (2016); her son, Michael John Barden; her brother, Ted Helmle; her parents, Theodore and Sally (nee Waranka) Helmle. Survived by her daughter, Sally (Bob Lardi) Pasteris; eight grandchildren, Giovanni (Kate) Pasteris, Nichole (Nick) Pasteris-Orlando; Heather, Michael, Kristina (John), Todd (Lauren), Bryce and Rayna Barden; seven great-grandchildren; her sister Bernice (late Howie) Brennan; her loyal dog, Max; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Delores was a proud and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a loyal and generous friend to many. She was known for her determination and quick wit and will be truly missed by all who knew her. Per Delores's wishes, private cremation rites will be accorded. The family of Delores would also like to extend a very special thank you to Joliet Area Community Hospice, especially to her CNA, Ashley and her nurse, Jessica for their compassionate and dedicated services. They are truly a caring group of professionals and have shown tremendous warmth and kindness to Delores and her family.
