Dennis Walter Zarobsky

Age 55, of Hobart, Indiana, passed away on September 24, 2026.

He was born on April 5, 1971, in Oak Lawn, Illinois, to the late Lawrence "Larry" Francis Zarobsky and Cynthia "Cindy" Jean Zarobsky. Dennis grew up in Central Stickney and went to Reavis High School in Burbank. He then attended Saint Xavier University in Chicago, which led to a meaningful career in technology.

A lifelong artist at heart, Dennis channeled his warmth, creativity, and energy into his deepest passion: music. Whether it was guitar, bass, keyboard, or vocals, he had a talent for composing original pieces and taking the stage. Dennis found profound meaning and community in performing solo and in several Chicagoland bands, including Heart2Heartbreaker, Group Therapy, Meltdown, Whiskeyfist, Anthem, Infinity, and more.

Off the stage, Dennis inspired a love of music and technology for both of his sons. Above all else, Dennis was there for his sons in the moments that counted, and he was immensely proud of the men they have become.

He is survived by his sons Jake (Adam) Zarobsky and Sean (Amy) Zarobsky. His brother Chris (Sandra)Knight and his niece Lucinda. His great-aunt Sandra McDonald and his cousins Kimberly (Hart) Pruitt-Roberts, Bruce (Kimberly) McDonald and Melanie (Dwayne) Smith.

A private memorial will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of Dennis's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Save the Music Foundation will be appreciated.
