Donald M. O'Connell went to be with the Lord, Monday July 10, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones.

Don grew up in Bridgeport and later Woodridge. It was Woodridge where many of his lasting friendships grew.

Don had many passions in life. Most importantly was his grandson, Jaxon. Don loved all kinds of music and went to many concerts and heard many local bands. He had a green thumb and planted many gardens. He enjoyed birdwatching, feeding and nurturing bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. His flowers, bushes and feeders fed an army of wildlife. He was an avid sports fan, following the White Sox, Bears and any team during March Madness. He adored his pets.

He is survived by his mother Geraldine; his older brother, Ron (Marina); his younger brother, John (Kori); son Don and daughter-in-law Naomi; grandson Jaxon; nephews, Hunter and Carson; and dear loved ones, Karen Gotham and Tim Knight.

He was preceded in death by his father George.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with the arrangements.
