Obituary

Donald L. Woodard Passed away peacefully at Lakewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, on Friday, April 26, 2019, at the age of 98. Donald was born March 2, 1921, a resident of Plainfield since 1953. Veteran of the U.S Navy served in the Atlantic Fleet in WWII. Brother of Electrical Union IBEW Local 176 for over 50 years and served as Treasurer for IBEW Local 176 for over 20 years. Donald enjoyed fishing, wood carving, his beautiful yard, golf and in later years playing bingo. Preceded in death by his parents John and Erma Woodard and his brothers William and John Jr. Survived by his beloved wife of 76 years Armenia (Mitzi), his children Terry (Laraine) of Applegate, Oregon, Nancy Woodard of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Sally (Albert) Pagnusat of Plainfield. Grandchildren Nicole (Joseph) Sefton, Aaron Skiotes and two great –grandsons Vincent Sefton and Michael Skiotes. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 3:00 – 5:00PM at Carlson Holmquist Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, Joliet, IL. Inurnment and Full Military Honors will be at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Special thanks to the staff at Lakewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, especially Cindy and Jan for their outstanding care and the hospice team Danielle and Amanda. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Disabled American Veteran's would be appreciated.
