Dr. Jesse Plasencia - passed away at his home, as a result of a Cardiac Arrest with his wife and daughter by his side, Monday, August 9, 2021. Age 62. Survived by his devoted wife of 32 years Penny (Mitchell) Plasencia, his loving children Chase and Victoria Plasencia, his brother Manuel (Tana) Plasencia and sisters Carmen (James) Langston and Susan (Gregory) Larsen, sisters in law Peggy (Dan) Miller, Becky (Alan) Gray, and brother in law Rod Mitchell and father in law Bob Mitchell and mother in law Janice (Curt) Barber and his four legged companion Ruby. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Carmen Plasencia and infant son Gabriel. Jesse graduated from Andrean High School, Merrillville, IN., Indiana University and University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Science, College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines. He completed his podiatric surgery residency at Westside (now Jesse Brown) VA in Chicago and joined the practice of Professional Foot Care Specialists, PC in Chicago. He eventually moved on to join the VNA Health Care Team in Aurora, IL. Jesse enjoyed teaching residents from the Jesse Brown VA podiatric surgery residency program and served as an officer of the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association, Zone 2. He was a lifelong member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, as well as being a member of the American College of Podiatric Medicine. Jesse was a loved and respected physician by both his patients and colleagues, he loved teaching and sharing his talents with others. He will be remembered as an outgoing, positive person with a lighthearted way about him. Jesse had a great love for golf, and enjoyed playing it as much as he could. His greatest love was being a dad; empowering his children with a thirst for education. Jesse will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him, especially his family. Memorial services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Saturday August 14th at 1:00 P.M. Visitation will be held Saturday, from 9:00 A.M until time of services.
