Elisa was born January 20, 1941 in McAllen, Texas. Her and her family moved to Joliet in 1954. Elisa was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was centered around family and the people she loved most. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Elisa was proud of her family’s heritage and deep roots in the upholstery and bedding business, a tradition begun by her late parents Manuel and Santos Cavazos. Through dedication, skill and determination, Elisa and her siblings helped carry that family legacy forward. What began as a family upholstery business grew over the years into successful ventures connected with mattress manufacturing, bedding and design, including Cavazos Upholstery, Royal Comfort, Pattern Designers and My Bed.
