Elizabeth “Liz” Marie Williams (nee Streitmatter)

Age 62, who resided in Wayland, Iowa, died peacefully in her home on Monday, September 21, 2026.

Elizabeth was born on July 3, 1964, in Joliet, IL, the daughter of Michael E. Streitmatter Sr. and Donna Rae Streitmatter (nee Kijowski). She attended Joliet Central High School. Elizabeth was a remarkable soul. She loved everyone and never judged anyone. She loved to laugh and make jokes even when she wasn’t feeling well. She enjoyed watching football, not only on Sundays, but any day of the week. Her favorite team was the Dallas cowboys, as she resided in Texas for many years prior to moving back to Illinois briefly then Iowa where she was joined in marriage on August 7th, 2021 to Timothy Alan Williams in Mount Pleasant, Iowa surrounded by loved ones. She was a self-taught dental assistant, and made that a career for 30 years. Elizabeth was a wonderful mother, a wonderful grandmother, a wonderful Aunt and a wonderful wife. Family was everything to her. She was a wonderful person, and she will be missed by so many, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Survivors include her husband Timothy Williams, daughter Christina (Alberto) Esparza. A sister Tina Lacoco. Her seven beloved grandchildren James Hernandez, Eric (Molly) Hernandez , Alex “Baby G” Hernandez, Nyc (Jennie) Kilcoyne, Alysianna Almazan, Alexandra Watkins, Syriha Beck, as well as five beautiful great-grandchildren Mason, Milani, Nycki, Selena and Payton. Her step-grandchildren Ryan Esparza, Amber Esparza and Danielle (Sean) Kesselring. A niece that was like a daughter to her LeAnna Mitchell and a great-niece DeAnna, who was like a granddaughter to her.  And many other beloved nieces and nephews. Her beloved fur baby Jake. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Michelle and four siblings John, Mike, Debbie and Marla. As well as nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Saturday, October 24, 2026 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Her family invites guests to wear white to the visitation to commemorate and celebrate Elizabeth’s life rather than death. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
