Passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 3, 2015. Age 93. Survived by his sister Genevieve McDade; two nieces Bonnie (Terry) Ziakis and Tammie Rippberger and a nephew John (Charlene) McDade. Several great nieces and great nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his wife Shirley Gurnic. Two sons Michael and Mark Gurnic; his parents John and Hazel Gurnic; a sister Lena Gurnic and two brothers Andrew and Raymond Gurnic. Member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and former member of First Lutheran Church. Veteran of the US Marines WWII, retired from Fitzhenry Oil Company and member of the Matteson Lodge #175 AF & AM. Lying in State at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1910 Black Road, Monday, December 7, 2015 from 9:00 A.M. until services at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Loy G. Schlote officiating. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery.
