Of Elwood, passed away suddenly at Rush University Medical Center, Friday, August 24, 2012. Age 70 years. Survived by her husband of 51 years John R. Kilgore, Sr., Two sons John R. (Judy) Kilgore, Jr. of Cissna Park, IL. And George A. Kilgore of Wilmington, IL. A daughter Jennifer (Duane) Stevenson of Joliet. Five grandchildren George, Chad, Charles and Ryan Kilgore and Madalyn Stevenson. Two great-grandchildren Alexia and Trinity Kilgore. A brother George H. (Deborah) Richmond, Jr. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents George H. Richmond, Sr., and Aris O. Richmond (nee Seelye), her sister Ann E. Walters (2005) Esther was born March 2, 1942 in Osthemo, MI. She was a social worker for Senior Service Center of Joliet and worked with Meals on Wheels of Will County until July of this year. Member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. Esther was an avid Cubs and Bears fan, she also enjoyed gardening and NASCAR. Her passion in life was watching and cheering on her grandchildren playing sports. Lying in state at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 310 N. Broadway St., Thursday, August 30 from 9:30 A.M. until services at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Karl Hess officiating. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Memorials to Meals on Wheels of Will County, American Cancer Society or American Heart Association will be appreciated. Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Wednesday, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
