Eugene B. Witt, age 89, of Joliet, IL passed away on Saturday, May 22nd at Amita Health Saint Joseph Medical Center. Eugene was born in Joliet to Frank and Mary Witt on October 27, 1931. He attended Joliet Township High School. He married the love of his life Angela E. Marchando June 17, 1950 in Joliet, IL. He worked for Sheffield Steel for over 30 years and retired in 1993. Eugene was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4400 and a parishioner of St. Bernards Parish. Eugene was a diehard Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan his entire life. Along with following his favorite sport teams, he found most of his enjoyment in spending time with his ever growing family. It was not uncommon to find Eugene helping one of his kids build a house or work on a car, cleaning his pool for his grandchildren, or playing a game with his great grandchildren. Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Witt, his brother Francis (Bud) Witt, his sister Genevieve (Jean) Witt, his son Ronald Witt, his daughter Valerie Witt, and his great grandchildren Chayton and Declan Hilliard. Eugene is survived by his loving wife of almost 71 years, Angela E. Witt; four children, Donald E. (Barb) Witt, Richard M. Witt, Michael E. (Pat)Witt, Barbara A. (Al) Quaresima; eight grandchildren Marie (Jay) Gutierrez, Andrea (Mark)Hilliard, Greg (Megan) Quaresima, Krystal (Joe) Salzsieder, Matthew Witt, Tony (Kelsey) Quaresmia, Scott Witt, Stephanie Witt (fiancé Mike) Schnieder; and eight great grandchildren, Dawson Quaresima, Amelia Quaresima, Alanna Quaresima, Ethan Salzsieder, Janessa Salzsieder, Evan Salzsieder, Francesca Quaresima, and Elliana Hilliard.
