of Joliet went home to the Lord on Thursday, March 30, 2016 at Our Lady of Angels Nursing Home. Age 99 years. Surviving are nieces Judy O'Bert of Joliet, Debra (Daniel) Altiery of Braidwood, Nancy (Rick) Heye of Shorewood, and Jane Vercellotti of Joliet; nephew Thomas (Ginny) O'Bert of Shorewood, and several great nieces and nephews. A special recognition to her long-time caregiver, Patricia Townsend, for her years of dedicated service, and to the care and commitment of St. Patrick's Church, Father Peter Jankowski and Julie Dillenburg. Preceding her in death were her parents, her loving husband Louis, a sister-in-law Theresa O'Bert and brother-in-law Frank Vercellotti. Many aunts and uncles from the Miller and Hynd families Evelyn was born on August 28, 1916, the daughter of Clarence and Jennie Miller. She was a lifelong resident of Joliet and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Joliet. Evelyn was intelligent and spirited, she enjoyed visiting with family and friends and telling stories about old Joliet. Lying in state at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 710 W. Marion St., Wednesday, April 6 from 9:00 A.M. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Memorials to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated.
