Of Joliet, at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, Thursday, July 16, 2009. Age 86 years.\r\n\r\nSurvived by his loving wife, of 65 years, Shirley M. (nee Cameron) Balog, a daughter Sherry L. (Robert A.) Sayles of Joliet, two grandsons Michael A. Sayles of Shorewood and Craig W. (Terri) Sayles of Joliet. Four loving great-grandchildren sons Nicholas and Michael Sayles of Shorewood and Blake and Cade Sayles of Joliet. Also numerous nieces and nephews. \r\n\r\nPreceded in death by his parents Stephen and Maria Balog, five brothers Joseph, Julius, Paul, Nicholas and Stephen Balog and a sister Mary in infancy. \r\n \r\nBorn in Joliet and was a lifelong resident. Veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army and the Civilian Conservation Corp. Retired from Olin (Blockson) Chemical Co. in 1986 after 39 years of service. Member of Grace United Methodist Church and Olin Retirees Club.\r\n
