Chet was proceeded in death by his loving wife Judy and parents Ford C "Bim" June Jr. and Lorraine "Dolly" June.
Chet was born in Ipswich, MA. on July 14, 1947. The family later moved to Elwood, IL., and then to Joliet. Chet attended JTHS and was moved to JTHS-West Campus when the schools were split in 1964. He was in that school's first graduating class in 1965. He graduated from Monmouth College in 1969, and then attended the University of Iowa College of Law, graduating Juris Doctor in 1972.
He was a founding partner of the law firm of June, Prodehl, Renzi & Lynch, LLC, from 1986 until his passing. Prior to that he had worked as Vice President and General Manager of Van Dyke Health Care Management, Inc. in Peoria, Il 1986; Executive Assistant to the Director: Illinois Department of Public Health, Springfield, Il,1984-1986; Executive Director & General Counsel: Illinois Planned Parenthood, Springfield, Il. 1982-1984; Cook County Assistant State's Attorney, Chicago, Il 1981; Executive Director of the Legislative Support Center, Springfield, IL, 1976–1981; Attorney with Polk County, Legal aid Society, Des Moines, Iowa, 1974–1976.
Chet's professional, community and civic service was extensive, for which he received numerous honors and awards. Far too many to include here, but these are some of the highlights:
* Member of the Joliet Township High School District 204 Board of Education from 1993 to 2011, President of the board 2009-2011. * Member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Illinois Chapter Board of Directors. * Member of the Joliet Area Historical Society Board of Directors, 1994. *Member of the Will County, Illinois Central Committee. * Elder: First Presbyterian Church,1986-1991. * Recipient of the Joliet-Will County Hall of Pride Award, 2012. *A member of his high school cheerleading squad (said he could do a "round off"). *A proud member of the JTHS and West Bands and of Sigma Phi-Epsilon Fraternity.
Chet was a very social person who could start a conversation with anyone, and usually would. If you met Chet, he probably asked you: "Where did you grow up; what school did you go to, were you in band, what fraternity/sorority were you in?"
Chet was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will certainly be missed, but fondly remembered, by all those that know and love him. You had a special purpose for your life, Chet. You may now rest in peace with Judy, knowing you fulfilled it well.
