Frances Marie Bowman (nee Filetti) - entered eternal life on Friday, February 5, 2021.
She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, James L. Bowman. She is reunited with her parents, Frank and Anna Filetti, and her seven siblings. Her "feisty" spirit is carried on by her 5 children, 20 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren who adored her. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from her 92 years of life. Among them: Don't start a job unless you're ready to finish it and finish it perfectly (she could out-work any of us and there was no job she was afraid to tackle). Feed anyone who shows up at your home, no matter the reason for their visit. There is nothing more important than family. Enjoy every minute of parenthood, because your children will be leaving home before you know it. Pennies add up to dollars. And Waterpiks are amazing; everyone should use one.
Fran was a talented seamstress and quilter, making a special quilt for every grandchild and every great-grandchild when they were born. She loved flowers and she enjoyed getting her hands dirty—her garden and yard were a privilege to enjoy. There wasn't a craft she was afraid to try and she became proficient at many. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she and her husband took pride in decorating and cooking for their family for decades, creating a tradition that will be carried on with our own families. Fran was an amazing cook, and food was one of her ways of showing the boundless love she had for us. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren could do no wrong; she always had our backs. With all her many accomplishments, she was most proud of each of us: children Larry (Cathy) Bowman, Jim (Paulette) Bowman, Grace (Dirk) Connor, Ron (Renee) Bowman, and Beverly (Bob) Anderson. Visitation will be held at Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home 2320 Black Rd., Joliet on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 9am-11am, with a private family service following. All attending will be required to wear facial masks and social distance.
